Embrace the Journey of Slow Living

Hello there, I’m Rebecca — writer, explorer, and the person behind Simple Life Explorers.

For years I lived by checklists, deadlines, and that persistent sense that the next thing would finally feel like arrival. Bigger house. Fuller schedule. Faster pace. I believed “more” was where meaning lived.

What I discovered instead was that peace doesn’t come from getting there. It comes from noticing where you already are — the light on the water, the quiet rhythm of simple days, hot coffee in your hands before the world wakes.
And to cut a long story short, I now live with my partner, John, and our dogs, Drummer, on a narrowboat.

Not to escape work or responsibility, but to live with them differently — with depth, presence, and space to breathe…Read More >

Here, we move by rhythm rather than routine.

Not because structure is wrong,
but because life doesn’t always arrive on a timetable.

We try to give our attention to fewer things, to stay with moments long enough to feel them, rather than skimming across the surface of our days.

We’re less interested in accumulation and more interested in connection —with ourselves, with others, and with the ordinary moments that so often go unnoticed.

Peace, we’re learning, doesn’t come from having more.
It comes from easing the grip. From letting life be enough as it is, for a while.

Simple Life Explorers is a place for people drawn to a gentler pace…

Those who feel the quiet pull of slowing down, who sense there might be another way to live — not louder or bigger, but more attentive.

There’s no need to rush here.

Nothing to prove…

Just space to listen, and the relief of realising you don’t have to do it all alone.

Letters From A Slower Life

From time to time, I write letters.

They’re not newsletters in the usual sense. There’s no schedule to keep up with and no promise of regularity.

They’re written slowly, from a quieter life on the water — often about work, money, rest, simple living, and the small moments that make up ordinary days.

These letters are for you if life feels busy even when nothing is obviously wrong.

If you’re tired of striving, keeping up, or feeling like you should be somewhere else by now.

If you’re curious about a slower, simpler way of living — without wanting it explained or fixed.

You won’t find tips, advice, or instructions here.

Just words written with attention, offered as company rather than answers.

If you’d like these letters to arrive quietly in your inbox when they’re written, you can sign up below.

No pressure…

No expectations…

Just letters, sent when there’s something worth sharing.
